The United States Army will formally apologize to the community of Wrangell on Saturday, Jan. 11, for its devastating bombardment of the Native village in 1869. The attack shattered the community and martyred a Tlingit man who ran afoul of U.S. laws and gave his life to spare the village from further destruction. The event will stream live at 1 pm (AKST).
